The Word ‘Allah’ is Not a Trade Mark.

Peace be on you. Sometimes ago a Christian priest in Malaysia said that Christians can use the word Allah too. The matter was taken to the court by those who did not like that. Unfortunately, a court decided that only Muslims can use the word Allah. It is astonishing to note that decision makers who are well educated people are unaware of simple fact that Allah tells in Holy Quran that He is of everyone:

1- “All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the Worlds.” [Holy Quran, chapter1:verse2]

2- “Allah enlarges His provisions for whomsoever He pleases…..” [ch13:v27]

3- “ Allah, your Lord, and the Lord of your forefathers of old?” [ch37:v127]

4- “Say, O People of the Book! Come to a word equal between us and you – that we worship none but Allah…”[ch3:v65]


The first verse tells that Allah is the Lord of everyone whether Muslim or non-Muslim. The second verse explains that provision comes from Allah everyone. The third verse states that Allah is the Lord of all generations of people. The verse talks about the commonality of Allah.

No Individual, religion, no sect, no government and no court of law has the ownership of Allah. Allah the Exalted is not a trademark; he is the Lord of all worlds....This is the true stand and real Islamic teaching.

Your interpretation seems difficult for people that think of the word as a trademark. The same goes for Christians who think of Jehova as a trademark. But God is the same God in any language and people must call He in any language with the language they have. Good post. Allah or Jehova, the same God be with you.
