Peace be on you. When the companion heard the extremely moving advice, his heart trembled and he requested Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) to tell, then, how salvation could be attained? The advice was given as spiritual narrate, the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) elaborated the subject by telling what to avoid to get the Grace of God and Salvation:

1= Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) began and said some angels rose to heavens with actions of a person, which he did in a day. At first heaven, the attendant angel stopped them and said, they cannot go any further, go back and throw his actions at his face because the person spoke ill of others behind their back (back biter).

2= Angels took the good actions of another person; there was no backbiting in those. Angels passed the first heaven, but were stopped at the second heaven. The attendant angel said: Go back and throw the deeds at the face of doer. He sits in assemblies to proudly talk about his actions.

3= Another person’s actions were free from back-biting and proud-talk. These good acts included almsgiving, charity, Fasting and Salaat. Angels carried these actions through two heavens successfully. But the attendant angel at the third heaven stopped them and said: Go back and throw those deeds at the face of the person. He is very arrogant and thinks very highly of himself.

4= Fourth group of angels took the deeds of another person. Salaat, Glofication, Hajj and Umrah were present in those deeds. Door after doors opened and they crossed three heavens. But the attendant angel at the fourth heavens said: Stop and go back and throw the deeds at the face of doer. He consider himself equal to God and he has excessive good opinion of himself and has no devotion for God.

5= Fifth party of angels was carrying deeds of someone. These actions were very beautiful, adorned and fragranced. The attendant angel at fifth heaven stopped them and said go back and throw the actions at the face of that person. This person envied everyone who attained knowledge and everyone who did good deeds.

6= Actions like Salaat, Zakaat, Hajj and Umrah were included in the deeds of another person. Angels crossed five heavens easily. At the sixth heaven, they were stopped and the attendant angel said to go back and throw these actions at the face of doer. He does not have compassion for any servant of God. I cannot let go anyone from here whose actions have element of mercilessness.

7= Seventh party of angels were carrying good deeds of a person, they crossed six heavens. Actions of the person included Salaat, Fasting, Fiqah (Jurisprudence), Ijtehad (Reaching at a decision, for unprecedented matter, in the light of Islamic teaching) and avoiding sins. Many angels were with these actions. Actions were bright and substantial. But the attendant at seventh heaven stopped them and told them to go back and throw these action at the face of doer and lock his heart because under God’s directive an action with adulteration can not be presented before Him. This person did these actions for others besides God; he wanted to be famous in the world.

8= Another person’s deeds went through seven heavens without objection. Actions included Zakaat, Fasting, Salaat, hajj, Umrah, high morals and remembrance of God. Many angels appeared from every door, reached the court of God, and bore witness to person’s sincerity. God told the angels that they were appointed to safeguard actions of people and recording, they only see apparent actions. God said: I see what is in the heart of my servant. This person did not do these actions to seek My pleasure, rather his objective was to please someone else. My curse be on him….On this all the angles cried out: Your curse and our curse be oh him….Then , the seven heavens and all creation living in them started to curse him.

Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) was telling all this to Companion Hazrat Mu’adh (may Allah be pleased with him). When he heard this advice, his heart trembled and he requested Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) to tell, then, how salvation could be attained?

Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) replied:

QUOTE
“Follow my Sunnah and have belief that no matter how good the deeds of a servant of God, he has some flaws, therefore do not be gratified by your actions. Rather, have belief that our God and Lord is such that in spite of their drawbacks, He forgives His servants. And look, take care of your tongue/speech and do not hurt anyone with it and do not consider you have more righteousness and temperance than others and do not announce your temperance. Do not adulterate the actions that you do for the pleasure of God and to benefit you in the Hereafter with worldliness. Do not create chaos and disorder among people and do not tear them apart. If you do so, on the Day of Judgement the dogs of Hell will tear you apart. Do not present your actions hypocritically before the world.”

According to Ahmadiyya Muslim Khalifah (of Promised Messiah and Mahdi), one is truly enable to do virtues, which gain acceptance by God when the blessed model of Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) is kept in sight. Even though he (p.b.u.h.) was granted glad tidings by God, he would pray with humbleness in view of human weakness; he (p.b.u.h.) said God is Self-Sufficient so one should pray with fear of God and one should be grateful for His blessings. Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h.) would help everyone. Everyone availed his compassion, love and affection; he taught us to pray God and pay dues of human to receive Divine Grace. May our deeds be free of any worldliness. May we attain God’s beneficence in both worlds and may God accept our prayers.
