An idea I kicked around too late for the poetry form contest past

    My Kitties Gone Home 2013

Beloved SnoBall, Tai, my dearest Pi
Gone home to rest unto the eternities
So tired my tears, so tried my fears
For Doodles and Odie, my remaining kitties
O' heaven's bright beam, make this a dream
Let me awaken to better days gone past
Where is the justice? Why all the fuss?
For three departed kitties sorely missed

Snappy title for this posting tailor. Later I will be posting my latest piece " Poem I started last Wednesday afternoon but couldn't be arsed to finish after Dave called in to retrieve the drill I borrowed back in April, completely interrupting my train of thought".

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.

Sorry for your loss, tailor_STATELY. I have a mixed relationship with the cat my daughter has. She sometimes tests the limits by getting between the keyboard and the monitor, but were she not here I would miss her nonetheless.

I feel for you tailor. I also lost 3 and never recovered. This is a sweet remembrance and a win in my mind.

"But do you really, seriously, Major Scobie," Dr. Sykes asked, "believe in hell?"
    "Oh, yes, I do."
    "In flames and torment?"
"Perhaps not quite that. They tell us it may be a permanent sense of loss."
"That sort of hell wouldn't worry me," Fellowes said.
"Perhaps you've never lost anything of importance," Scobie said.

    Thank you Haunted.

It's been very hard on me. SnoBall was always on the sickly side; an adorable kitten with incredible ragdoll markings showing as she matured. She and Odie were best buddies.

My Pi (Scooter Pi) died from a mass in his abdomen the size of a tennis ball. The vet couldn't operate on him because of our outstanding vet bill from previous dog and kitty visits. I recorded the office visit and still have it as a reminder to keep my vet bill current. He died with me by his side at the end at home 4-days later.

Tai (Tiger/ Tai Tai) we believe died of a snake bite. We have rattlesnakes that don't take kindly to attention or surprise.

Someone recently dumped a gray kitten off on our property, but he has since disappeared. Ah well.

Heartbreaking tailor, thanks for sharing. I too had a Tiger. One day when he was 4, he came into the crook of my arm and slept. Since then he always sleeps there. He was a hunter and he brought back mice, chipmunks and bats into the house and one time a little snake, I totally freaked. He was the hardest as he was with me the longest (18 years) and then it took 5 sickly months before he was gone.

Skippy was the first one I lost. She got lymphoma. During her last 3 months, I came home from work and sat on the kitchen floor for hours to get her to eat. She wasn't eating so I had to monitor her and lure her to her food. Day after Christmas I went to meet a friend, out many hours and when I came back, I saw a shadow on the floor and knew what happened.

Apricot went very quickly, in just a week. It hit me like a truck from behind, never saw it coming. He stopped being able to pee one day and that was it. In kitty hospital for about a week. They couldn't do anything else that's not intrusive, and we just had to let him go. He was my heart and soul.

They'd talk to me, they talked back, they were like 3 little kids. I got this house for them knowing they'd love it and they did, now they are gone and I'm left with this place, soooo quiet...

I fostered a cat for someone and ended up keeping her. She's 6, not an adoptable age, that's why I took her. She's ok, keeps to herself and not like the old gang. We hardly talk.

"But do you really, seriously, Major Scobie," Dr. Sykes asked, "believe in hell?"
    "Oh, yes, I do."

I'm sorry, Tailor. I didn't realize from the title you were writing about a grievous loss. What is it about the loss of a pet that simply tears a hole in our hearts???

Thank you Haunted; sorry for your losses too.

Thank you qimissung. I see our pets as family, who due to their relative short lives, often pass too soon for us.
