I’m hoping it’s an imagining of chemo rather than reality. Best wishes to you either way. I’m
    a fan of your writing.

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.

    Sheep Shearing 2018

I balance the ewe with my knee,
    And follow the old choreography,
    A dance of physical poetry.
A little effort, the fleece falls free,
The boy catches another sheep for me.

But this year my strength has gone,
    The rhythm is off,
    The rhyme contrived,
Next year I'll teach him to clip,
    Next year.

The sheeps will notice the difference!
