    Depression in Short Stories

I'm doing some research on the fictional portrayal of depression in short stories and was wondering if anyone can recommend some good ones? So far I've got the obvious 'The Depressed Person' by David Foster Wallace, and a few examples in Bukowski. I'm mainly looking for ones written post-1960 but any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

I think you will benefit from reading Anne Sexton.

Bartleby the Scrivener by Herman Melville. It's 19th century, but is often mooted to be a classic of depression. Or is Bartleby an anarchist?

Darkness Visible by William Styron is worth checking out, it's a memoir, but might give you some leads to chase down.

Most of the stories in Dubliners would be applicable. More specifically, I think that "Araby" and "Eveline" would fit your needs perfectly.
