    lol... bewitched items ?

    the dawning

    pay attention to the dawning
it takes no effort at all
    the slow adagio, the slideshow

the sunrise sings like a lonely night bereft of birds
    the bird-less darkness overcome
gently it goes - the lily-livered, the fearful, the cowardly
    ... birdless, the dawning

    Sometimes I think so!
It´s a beautiful poem, but isn't this line a bit contradictory?

"The sunrise sings like a lonely night bereft of birds
the bird-less darkness overcome" (Is the dawn or the night or both bereft of birds?)

    Morning noises
The long, long night is gone
    Her grey mantle lifted
    The distant hooting of cars
The clashing sound of the bus stopping at the lights
    Voices cutting through the air
    A dog barks, another answers.
    No many bird voices though!
    They are confused
    with the timing schedule.
They sing at noon and at midnight.
"I seemed to have sensed also from an early age that some of my experiences as a reader would change me more as a person than would many an event in the world where I sat and read. "

    Landscapes designed in coal.

    Breathing listlessly.

    Cold summer

    Erased ground.

    Ode to an Ex-Spouse

My dear spouse, you inspire me to write.
I love the way you straddle, snore, and hoot,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about your mighty snoot.

Let me compare you to disremember.
You are mostly poor fish, and filet fine.
Wild frost nips the robins of December,
And wintertime has a consistent whine.

How do I love you? Let me weigh the praise.
I love your medley eyebrows and humor.
How your personality filled my days!
My love for you is a lightsome rumor.

Now I must wile away with a glib heart,
Remember my warm words whilst we're apart.

(lol) One last one for the day...

    Taffy Doodles' Villanelle

Taffy Doodles agonized about the clog
It was just so broken and bagatelle
But he could never forget the epilogue

That morning, Taffy Doodles was featured in a blog
He had to calm himself for a spell
Taffy Doodles agonized about the clog

At elevenses Taffy Doodles was spooked by a snog
He tried to focus on the smell
But he could never forget the epilogue

Taffy Doodles stood stock still, agog
Thumper Bumper explaining it was time to rebel
Taffy Doodles agonized about the clog

Taffy Doodles eschewing digital reasoning went analog
Children everywhere like a toxic farewell
But he could never forget the epilogue

Later, Taffy Doodles slumbered on a cedar log
Whiskers twitching, dreaming he was a gamboling gazelle
Taffy Doodles agonized about the clog
But he could never forget the epilogue

Moving to laughter and tears. Should be shown, I think, to whom motivated it, if there is receptivity.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII III! A poetic homage for a metusallic cat! Enjoyed it so much but hope Taff is very much alive and kicking (so to speak of). Is there any picture of him? ( no wanting to disturb metusallic slumbers).

    Without Rhyme and Reason

    One says "Let fishes fly"!
    Ants winning at shot-put game
    Bats singing goodnight songs
    heads down
Just a small lame uxy poem!

LOL... this is a composite of my two ex's (one of whom I remarried now 30+ years) and myself AND classic marital/divorce humor with a tweek on lines from the Shakespearian sonnets #18 & #43 (perhaps more?)... All using a sonnet generator with copious amounts of editing

Love your poem: not "lame uxy" (uxy = cos(xy) − xy sin(xy) ?)
Also interested in the word "metusallic" (metusallic cat & metusallic slumbers)... googled with no joy... a nonce word ? Perhaps "uxy" too ?

I'll try to get a photo of TD, et al... Hmmm, there may be some sprinkled in past posts.

Thanks! No, "uxy" is an invented word, just liked the sound of it. "Metusallic" is also an invention but I was thinking of Methuselah. Perhaps an "methusahlic" cat would be better!

Lol! One searches one´s brains for remotely poetic effects and he uses a sonnet generator . Where do I find that much needed app?

Lol! Nice poem, but the roof needs some repair, it seems!

    The Hole

    Early morning
    Rain, rain, rain!
The Road opens its big mouth
    Swallows a car or two
    High commotion!
    Honk, honk, honk
    goes the immense queue on
    the blocked road.
    Rescue efforts are rewarded
Three people are flown to the hospital.
    Lastly emerges a fireman
    Carrying a small fluffy dog.

The Hole lords immensely about the roaring, desperate traffic.
