Thanx ! Been resting when I can. Wife had likely a virus; spent three nights in the hospital (should have been at least four nights but she left against the advice of her doctor because her bed was uncomfortable Now she's paying the price, but has doctor visits lined up (Wednesday's was with her pulmonologist) and plenty of meds to support her. My home internet was out for a number of days... finally found a nicked cable that I replaced with a found cable from a previous vendor; then internet customer service walked me through re-installing service (why I had to do that step I have no idea). I had taken my chromebook, sans wireless mouse and sans wireless keyboard to the hospital, and then remembered why I have a wireless mouse and keyboard after the fact.

    Anywho...

Welcome back, tailor, as the old bard says, "all is well, that ends well". Hope your wife will have the best assistance possible (with lungs there is no kidding) and that her health will improve rapidly.

As for the Internet, hopefully they wonīt charge you the installation as you did it yourself.

    "An Anonymous Doc" Tragicomic!

    Kafka and the Hospital

Kafka once had to go to the hospital
    but the hospital wasnīt there
    the hospital wasnīt anywhere.
He waited at all the doors
    of the nonexistent hospital.
    The doors were wide open,
    but he couldnīt come in.

    Quite a futility of fulfilment

This is a poem I wrote that I dredge up once in a while:

    No Refunds

    No refunds, blockhead
    My imaginary shrink
    I paid him no mind

    11/21/2017

From some drivel I wrote many years ago : "Hey it's you !!!" cried the book to me when viewing it on the shelf... "the complete idiot !" I gotta' talk to Dr. Liebschitz about these seemingly inanimate objects talking to me. But then, the advise of an imaginary psychiatrist may be suspect. My favorite line when e-mailing a family member some time back about Dr. Liebschitz is... "I paid him no mind, his usual fee". That line still cracks me up ! Seems to me I had created a poem about something and had included the line in it... Where's my imaginary psychiatrist, Dr. Liebschitz, when I need him ?... still looking for the original poem

This Dr Liebschitz story reminds me somehow of the Yes/No nano stories.

After The Alienist by Machado de Assis

There once there was a doc
    In the madhouse he did
    himself lock.
    There he remained alone,
    Cos the madmen he had
    sent home.

    Enjoyed specially "My gratitude waterfalls".

    Haloween

    The time comes round
    when the ghosts spook
(not to forget the witches ugly and fair)
    enjoying their liberty:
    Walpurgisnacht, Walpurgisnacht!

    Then the Saints arrive,
and with sweet but determined movements
    send them back
    to shrines and tombs
    to their imprisoned sleep
    for one more year.

My offering for tomorrow's "Thursday at Two" poetry gathering (may get an edit here or there):

Ekphrastic Poem: Abandoned Bicycle Leaning Against a Tree

chain driven pedal bike, albeit somewhat rusty, rickety… still
    off-roads quite nicely - jinkedy-jinkin' breathlessly 'round
narrower and narrower paths created by creatures unknown - the
trees ablur in watchful consternation as I abruptly overtake a corner…
earth greets me, and deer ferns mixed with moss and stars - there
my senses slowly cleared, I heard birdsong, though what appeared may
perhaps defy imagination, so, leaning my bike against a tree, I wait
like just a moment to fully take in, as I later learned: the tableau of a
Athel Loren elf lord holding court beyond in the daylight - this new
tapestry of sylvan beings gathered in a clearing beyond a tree lined road
instilled a sense of fear and wonder as I was trespassing their realm or
otherworldly dimension - when a dank caress caused me to shudder - a
naiad revealed her will and I followed her with hope - her secret
spring my only escape, she said, and led me thither showing me the gate

Charming poem (I think, naiad(s) will enjoy)! A bit of "Alice in Wonderland" atmosphere. Sophisticated acrostic (every other verse), googled Ekphrastic.

    There once was a child,
    More fierce than mild,
    that loved to ride,
    on the wings of imagination.

So it travelled to foreign nations.
    It met many people,
    in groups or
    on their own.

    it visited enchanted places.
    it had itīs vision
    but when it woke up
    it was alone.

"Sophisticated acrostic (every other verse)"... (lol) I keep falling asleep at the keyboard and cannot quite see it.

Enjoyed your poem; a bit melancholy in its stark reality.

    An Anonymous Man Named Skip

Skip was somewhat of a local legendary clown
Found himself aghast as he drown
He was sailing the seas in a ship
And the winds and the waves did sore whip
Fortunately he woke up in a pub named The Crown

Lol! Quite a collection of anonymous men you have got!

    The Tube

    There once was a tube
That ardently wanted to be a cube.
    Its six equal sides
    With no place to hide
Seemed the non plus ultra of harmony.

    As years went by
    the tube remained a tube
    and didnīt turn
    into a cube.
It got used to its destiny.

Now is this a stuff for poetry?

    Definitely !

Ode to my Snail; How Well He Escargot'd / a Sonnet

My dearest snail, you so prompt me to write.
I loved the way you escargot'd with pride,
Now invading my mind each day and night,
Garlic and parsley butter on the side.

Let me compare you to a boiled lobster.
You are more superb, awesome, and heavy.
El Niņo whipped the storms of October,
And autumn fills my abandoned Chevy.

Do I miss thee? My bath scale whirs and weighs.
I loved your four eye-stalks and persona.
Thinking of your spiral shell fills my days.
You are my heroic one way Jonah !

Now I must 'lone pine with a woeful heart,
Weep not for me whilst in heaven thou art.

Lol! "I loved the way you escargot'd with pride,/Now invading my mind each day and night,/Garlic and parsley butter on the side." Have you already breakfasted today?" Feeling ambivalent though about this poem as it also transmits sorrow. Hope it is just an impression.
