it may never try
but when it does it sigh
it is just that
good
it fly
the river
cruises
across the bruisers
it is to take
losers
off chosers
who says nature
never truders
it may never try
but when it does it sigh
it is just that
good
it fly
the snail
drifts around
itīs own tail.

lol... can relate; terrible internet (hence wi-fi) here. Since my laptop is overheating (prolly cat fur) I'm using a chrome book with so little memory it can't accept a windows update ... which slows it down and nags that it needs an update (lol).
Long story short my car has been returned by the oil change company... hopefully with no repercussions due to an oil leak from a pine needle being stuck between a new oil filter and the housing... go figger.
A poem I'm pondering/developing for our local poetry challenge using "lost" words (subject to change of course):
his flosculations reeked of halitosis
and missing teeth...
(who can afford a dentist ? )
blue jeans pulled down as if saburrated
he's the modern urban male
highly prized to pass on his genes
... but not pass on free finger food
during happy hour at the local lounge

Your poem:
"his flosculations reeked of halitosis
and missing teeth...
(who can afford a dentist ?
blue jeans pulled down as if saburrated
he's the modern urban male
highly prized to pass on his genes
... but not pass on free finger food
during happy hour at the local lounge"
I like the ironic take. The unusual words are of course intended, but I need some explanations:
"Saburrated??"
"free finger food- free for all food offerings at the happy hour?"
"blue jeans pulled down"-Is this a metapher, my foreign (mis)understanding or does your urban male really walk around with pulled down trousers(lol-wondering how the church people would react)?
My nonsensical contribution:
Whirlpools!
Fiery columns of words and waters
Hurricane dandelions
Sleeping on lakes of lava!
"I seemed to have sensed also from an early age that some of my experiences as a reader would change me more as a person than would many an event in the world where I sat and read. "

(lol) From "The Phrontistery" (lost words)... https://phrontistery.info/clw.html
flosculation, n, 1651 -1651. an embellishment or ornament in speech.
saburrate v 1623 -1658. to put sand or gravel in a ship as ballast
"Happy Hour" promotional Bar/Lounge time set aside for drink specials & Finger Foods (see below) especially after the 5:00 pm work crowds hit the streets.
"Finger food" must be a north American affectation: Food/snacks easily selected from bowls: chips/nuts/and so much more (see slide show)... https://www.thepioneerwoman.com/food...er-food-ideas/
: also fun for Halloween... https://www.google.com/search?client...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
... Yes, not a metaphor... (lol) Again, perhaps a north American trend... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagging_(fashion)"blue jeans pulled down"-Is this a metapher, my foreign (mis)understanding or does your urban male really walk around with pulled down trousers(lol-wondering how the church people would react)?
Hasn't been an issue in my church, but perhaps in other areas ?
"Hurricane dandelions"... Love it !! Mine are blooming and family has been warned in the past to leave them alone.

(Lol)There is a lot here;
Phrontistery site doesnīt open. A pitty, because I got curious.
"flosculation"- In German they have the word Floskel.
"Happy Hour"- also an habit here in Sampa, at least it was until pandemics.
"Finger food"-Of course, food one eats with the fingers!Yumm!

"blue jeans pulled down"-Lol! Never heard about this US male dress cultural revolution involving school, police, judges and US authorities from the highest rank. Go ahead with it!

Floskelen ! Just the very explanation of my poem !!! Brigadeiro sound yummy ! Sorry for The Phrontistery not opening at your end, it's a great resource for obscure words. onomatOpoem! !!! The Phlyarology of the Apanthropinizator
Listening to the Talking Heads -
Not the banal on TV discussing all
kinds of Cain this side of the
Garden... "Home, is where I want
to be" the latest earworm -
soothing this lackadaisical Spring
day this side of the equator -
whispering winds susurrate:
"don't forget to clean up your mess"
Ok, a slight disruption in the force
Need to water the Shamrock plant
... it's gasping. A neglected box of
poetry and piles of homeliness here
and there... and dishes! Meds at noon
... done... Bed undone... OK soon!
"This aint no party, This aint no Disco"
"This aint no fooling around"... googling
Heebie Jeebies: LOL, Yeah, I got that.
Eggs scrambled for brunch, with curry
(mmm)... more dishes (hmmmmm)
Hide them in the broken dishwasher
(heh heh)... Alexa's gagging on the wi-fi
"We're not little children...
we're on the road to nowhere...
come on inside"; great advice with the
allergens hopping on the breeze -
screaming with glee as if on a carnival
ride... "Alexa, continue" for the umpteenth
... and time wanders on lazily

Lo!!Identify fully with the homely situations portrayed in the poem. Are there still animals around?
Waiting wishfully...watchfully!
Whisperings and hissing in the background!
Dark night, no shadows, no dreams!
But then sun!
Pigeons flapping fleafull wings
And dogs singing their morning song
on the warming square!

Fun Poem ! I like the alliteration
Ah... pets: (kitties) Taffy Doodles is still hanging in there after 20? years or so; Tinker Bell, our black kitty, weighs about 8 kg. and still likes to dominate; Rosie still an indoors at night / outdoors by gentle day; (rabbit) Thumper Bumper (what we settled on for a name... though I entice him with a bit of banana by calling him Mr. Bunny Rabbit in a nasally voice); (dog) Maya... a shorthair German Shepherd who has to stay at my Sister-in-law's home (doesn't like cats) on the compound. In addition my daughter has a dog of mixed breed at her home on the compound (senior moment - can't remember his name, lol), and my Sister-in-law has a long haired German Shepherd (Koņa).(sigh) All the equines have passed on.
Waterwill: The Elder, Snouted Sturgeon
A pool, however hard it tries,
is rarely becalmed
Stopping at the pool I imagine an elder, snouted sturgeon
Down, down, down into the darkness goes the elder, snouted sturgeon
Gently it goes - the elder, amongst the younger, the big and small
In my mind's eye I stare incredulously at the tam-o'-shanter
the elder, snouted sturgeon wears
Down, down, down into the darkness wearing its tam,
Gently it goes - amongst the younger, the big and the small -
the elder, snouted sturgeon.

Liked this sturgeon poem(hope you are saving all your poems elsewhere too)
Glad to know that the kitties are all fine. Taffy Doodles 20 years old? Shouldnīt wonder, he probably lives like a pasha! And also that Thumper or Bumper has reverted to healthier food habits since his youthful days, when he enjoyed nibbling telephone lines.
Happy Dog Days
Bow wow wow
How are you?
Be we we
Big friend it's me
Letīs sing that we are free!
However short this liberty!
Puddles of rain!
Joyous matter.
Splish splash, splish splash, splish plash
In and out of the water!

Your doggie poem is adoreable !!! Thumper Bumper still manages to nibble cords within reach; we're less apt to keep anything near but he still surprises us. Yes, Taffy Doodles has it made; pretty sure he's over 20 now. I've been gathering my poems in a Google doc so I can access them cross-platform, but need to get my old laptop to stop over-heating so I can gather them from there as well from miscellaneous files all over...
tailor's Torment - A Broken Villanelle
tailor couldn't stop thinking about the box
It was just so odd, blue, and tiny
Seems he always forgot to change the clocks
That morning tailor walked twelve blocks
He found himself feeling rather piney
tailor couldn't stop thinking about the box
Later, as tailor was eating his lox
He thought the situation had become too spiny
Seems he always forgot to change the clocks
I tried to distract him with more walks
Said his mind had become too whiny
tailor couldn't stop thinking about the box
tailor decided to become cunning like a fox
Though his thoughts couldn't be less sunshiny
Seems he always forgot to change the clocks
tailor nosedived into a parallel sandbox
His mind had turned to mush
tailor couldn't stop thinking about the box
Seems he always forgot to change the clocks

Thanks! A miserlol poem!
Unruly
The door doesnīt open
The window doesnīt close
The telephone doesnīt ring
Pans gliding noisily to the ground
Glasses are nowhere to be found
Internets to the clouds retire
House is a maze and a mire
Such is the rebellion of mutet things.
