Truly nonsensical! ( and how difficult its is to write nonsensical poetry!

    John Lawn

    John Lawn
    used to live
    upside down.

    He always
    flew away
    during the day
    without giving notice.

    Once, just once
    he was in a fray
    at a hotel where
    he wanted to stay
    but not pay,
    they called the police.

    Left to his own
    John Lawn
    Simply flew away.

    So true !

    Lol... enjoyed John Lawn

A mashup of Monadnoc From Afar by Ralph Waldo Emerson

    From a Dram of Canon

    To Planter rosy evening
he of Red eyes duly thy
    muse secret knew
    far-gazing hues
    fix Well to dyes form
    purpose with thought

    Dark Cheshire garden on
    Thy sombre spot had
    Works I strongly draw
how all to this human head
    what the fancies flower

    Enjoyed!
    Badly evoking Manoel de Barros

    But what about
    The language of the pebbles,
    the yearnings of the rainclouds
the choir of the abandoned cigarette butts?

lol... you had me until "cigarette butts"...

Mashup from Day One by Manoel de Barros... https://bombmagazine.org/articles/five-poems-20/

    One Day

Water Yesterday the flood’s stamp up to the canoe
I eye the edge rise From a palm the sail on a cork
Might I have a cup of My rained soaked sleepwear
my glimpse of the light of the future

My only other image is leaves in These waters
I am my embarrassments set here on the border
with me it stands no trees of lined fruits in the sky
as the vulture eat of his caranda Fish dishes

And a bonus poem for our poetry group later in the day

the dark elves of the forests / golden (acrostic) shovel

if you should desire to explore our hills hearkening
to the call, a wanderlust of spirit, take sore heed to
cling to sanity should anxiety strike your soul - the
headstones will be wanting, just around the corner, as death
imperceptibly stalks your nerves - the dark elves’ watches
    nefariously manipulating your tremblings in
gaslighting you subtly to their notorious will - the
situation ends when you paint the devil on the wall

    10/6/2022

golden shovel: "hearkening to the death watches in the wall"
from "The Tell-Tale Heart" by EA Poe

A true poem! The title could be "Paranoia". Hope people will enjoy! Have a nice poetry meeting!

Enjoyed the mash up on Manoel de Barros' poem, this master of nonsensical poetry! A bit more of his poetry:

    https://latinamericanliteraturetoday...oel-de-barros/

Did an mashup poem of two by Manoel de Barros, but deleted it because of possible autoral rights.
Working now on a public domain poem. (I´ll be back tomorrow)

Re: the dark elves of the forests - Thank you ! "Paranoia" would fit nicely

    Re: The White Chickens... Lol

Q - Is it copyright infringement if one uses another poet's words in a scrambled manner ? Anagrams ? Food for thought...

    Found this for US copyright:
In copyright law there are laws governing "fair use." This means you may use the poem in a limited way without permission. The problem with this is that the definition of "limited" is not cut and dried. Fair use may apply if you are critiquing the work, or quoting it in scholarly writing, research or technical writing. Educational uses that are not for profit may be allowed as well as parody of the poem.

A man named Dewey once lived near a library
    A bibliophile savant most extraordinary!
    He wasn't too vocal
But at least he was local
Since he converted the library's decimal catalog into binary

Thanks for Your copyright research, tailor. Manoel de Barros died some years ago. I think it´s better just to appreciate this great master of nonsensical poetry.

    One plus two makes four
    Therefore don´t open the door
Open instead a hole in the floor,
take one oar, and rudder until
    you are ashore.
Then you don´t have to rhyme
    anymore.

    Tumble about
    broken jar,
    yellow moon,
    get me my collection
    of crumpled clouds.
    Each dream demands
    a golden lagoon.

Popups on cell phone are idiotic!
Don't manage well without mouse either.
Get some sleep, you need to stay well and keep in touch if you can.
