Question Help me with this passage by Toni Morrison please!

What does this passage mean? Help me please. I have no idea what's Toni Morrison talking about there:

    Sula, Page 97:

"You puttin' it on, Nel. Jude must be wore out."
"Jude must be wore out? You don't care nothin' 'bout my back, do you?"
"Is that where it's at, in your back?"
    "Hah! Jude thinks it's everywhere."
"He's right, it is everywhere. Just be glad he found it ..."

Wtf? What does "wore out" mean there? What's putting what on?? What's on her back?

Sorry if I appeared impolite. But I get frustrated when I have no idea what someone was talking about. Thank you so much for helping out!

Wore out is maybe tired physically or mentally.
Her hair was like a flowing cascade and her breasts were real awesome also.

Quoting more lines from before and after that passage, or summarizing what's going on, might help provide context.
