Lightbulb to write not to rewrite: a writing process

    How to write?

The first one the most enjoyable writing process one to write to-not-rewrite. In other words I just write because I enjoy the flow of the ideas just taking shape. It could be about anything but it keeps me writing.
The second is to write to-rewrite.
The third is to write poetry.

I keep all first drafts as part of my writing processes because I like to reread the original works I did.
For every story there is a first draft. It is important because they are the ideas about how I write.
To reread the first steps to writing a particular story is also enjoyable.
It is also a great insight into the writing processes.
First drafts are the original documents to writing and thinking processes.

When I begin to write I usually jot down sentences with plots characters without paying attention to spelling punctuation grammar and so on.
The second or third redraft are geared towards syntax and of course readers.

Do you write not-to-rewrite for fun?

No because even in the final draft of my earlier works I can see how I've progressed from then to now. I do have unfinished work but their current status is not intentional. Fun is not a reason I go back and read them either.

Well interesting because lots of us find it hard at times to write because the inspiration or motivation is not there.
And so I was thinking I must now find a way to break through the monotony of heavy writing.
I figured one must try and keep all scripts are they were originally not throw them away or delete them.
That is the issue with computers. If you type everything then one deletes automatically and so one looses the originals.
I have now taken up to what I call write not-to rewrite -writing instantaneously- without having to worry about syntax arrangement meanings words. I simply write and see where it takes me. It is just fun writing and when I have had enough I stop. It is a different kind of writing but albeit it keeps me alert and sharpen my intellectual thinking or ideas arrangement.
This kind of writing focuses on ideas and not languages. It is a practice of snapshots of ideas expressions opinions views moods dialogues conversations and so on. This idea plays on the intellectual side of writing and the enhancement of it but free writing.
And when I have done a bit of that to take a break from novel or story building I can then go back to a bit of ''directed writing'' and focus on the form or the shape of the story because I feel up to it.
But I keep all originals first draft the lot. Nothing gets wasted.

Well I keep a hand written journal with me wherever I go so the issue with computers doesn't necessarily apply to me. I'm not sure what you mean by the monotony of heavy writing. If I considered writing to be like that, I doubt that I would write!

Hi Delta40 what I meant by the monotony of heavy writing is for example novels that take few pages more then one actually read.
One can over do it and becomes stressed and wrapped around a book and life has to stop existing. I know people who can disappear into their book writing and do not even know what time of the day it is. It can be quite a lonesome intensed time writing.
So not to let it take over one must take it easy.
