    The Art of Constructive Criticism

When what you have to say
    can only be bad
then do not say it -
    destruction and self-destruction
    are almost for free
    Gone are the days when
    we could drink rainwater
and moreover – who cares ?
All roads lead to the same destination ...

when what you have to say
    can only be bad
just shut it up - be generous...!

When what you have to say
Is good and bad then do not forget
    watering and trimming,
do not let it wither away...

the spider’s web of prejudice & clan:
    - lift you above all that in you is small...

when what you have to say
is good and bad then do not forget
do not let it wither away - be generous ..!

And when what you have to say
    can only be good
then use that pair of wings (kind of)
that God gave you - be generous...
    but without forgetting that
"the higher we are the worst is the fall "
and that the obesity of flattery
    will not dampen that fall

... what have you to say...?

In the last bit you write (kind of) I would lose that. Also you write...

"the higher we are the worst is the fall "
and that the obesity of flattery
    will not dampen that fall

I always try to avoid using the same word so closely together. I would switch it up.

I'm not great at the art of constructive criticism, just some thoughts.

Yes I like it very much. We are all made from the things that came before us, right.

Hmmmmm. Having to bare management tricks as most of us do and the diplomacy of friendship, I would rather now that somebody say to me ' Jerry, that is crap' . It let's you know where you are for sure. Better that, for me, than to be served with sugar.

As for the religious undertone, that, to me, is crap.

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.

That's right, Baldy. Too much patronizing already in this forum. It's tough to discern what's good enough if everything seems the best.

The writers only have themselvs to blame for the over-patronization of what are usually mediocre at best works. I don't comment anymore, because anytime I, or anyone else, criticizes a work, people just whine and moan and it turns into petty arguments. I find it ironic that you're complaining about it, miyako.

a criticism must be good too as it is also a form of writing.

Read Auntshecky's critiques. That's what I'm talking about.

I'll be the first one to tell you that my writings suck. That's why I need a good critique/critic that/who will not change my voice but help me see other voices.

Your writings don't suck. Maybe overly bleak at times, but they don't suck.
