    What happened to my story?

One day it's there as one of the contestants, and the next day, it's--disappeared--with no reason given why.

I thought it was because you had already posted it. I also thought you've been told this.

I don't think I've posted the story before. My memory is not what it was though. If someone could show me where I have posted it before, I would be very grateful.

My story has not been posted before

My story was not posted before I entered it in the July competition.

If you go to your profile , click on statistics and choose "all threads started by Jassy Melson" you can easily see what stories you have already posted to help you remember.
And don't worry there are a few more rounds to go yet

    No more submissions

Since I have posted stories twice and then reposted them in the story contests without remembering that I had posted them, I can only conclude that my memory is slipping. So the best thing I can do is to stop posting stories in the contest. It was not attempts to deceive on my part; my memory is simply going.

Oh, no need to beat yourself up so much. It could happen to anyone. Just keep a journal where you can keep track of what you posted, and submit another story.

It's ok, Jassy. A little understanding goes a long ways. No need to feel bad or embarassed. People who submit their stories to this forum or the contest are taking an emotional risk in some way and we all understand that. Which is why this reader votes that we treat each other and our works with just a little bit o empathy for that risk and the artistic process... Foggy memory and all.

Jassy, we all forget at times what we posted. It might be a good idea to check which stories you have posted by going to your profile page (click on your name and pick "View Public Profile), going to "Statistics" and then choosing "Find all threads started by Jassy Melson".

Maybe put a unique string of some kind like "JasMel" at the beginning or end of your story posts, so you can search on that later and get just your stories.
