    Mahogany

Woods grow dark with myths grown old,
Forgotten, so they won't get told,
Yet warm the surface, brown and fold
In music, hints of what they hold.

    Delightful Reconstruction of Last Night

    That stain, they said,
    Looks Bordeaux red.
I claimed it's from her kiss,
    But wine stains, too.
    I had a few.
Who cares? It's her I miss.

    Ghost in White

    Ghost white, slight, hazy sight
    Talks without a sound
Moon light, night, but it's alright
    She's fun to have around.

    Orange

    We call her Mama Marmalade
From our local "Orange Zest Cafe"
We tip her extra to pay her bail
Every weekend at the Orange County Jail

Too much of her homemade marmalade wine,
    Orange vodka, liqueur infused clementines,
Her bourbon marmalade meatballs are rockin'
And what happens next is just shockin'

Mama starts dancing and playing her kazoo
kicking her heels up, Oh! orange stockings too
wagging her ample behind is alarming
Here comes the sheriff, now try to be charming!

Silly, Silly, Lavender Blue (an homage to "Lavender Blue") http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavender_Blue

    Silly, silly, lavender blue
    who thinks him lord
    o'er all the rainbow
    Silly, silly lavender blue
    declared war on the stars
    the sun and moon
    Silly, silly lavender blue
    what would you do
    with all the light gone?
    Silly, silly lavender blue
    it's light that feeds your
    vanity and nourishes the bow

    Getting Ready for Halloween

    Seafoam green with fishy eyes
The monster tries his new disguise.
His wicked laugh's enough to scare
Most kids and that's why none are there.

nice piece YesNo quite halloweeny indeed

    violet
    is a beautiful
    pilot
    to red and green
    it coats
    then it sheen
    and then it let them
    have their mean'
    synthetic would seem
    pointless at the beam.

    Happy Black Halloween

Thanks, cacian. I liked the violet-pilot rhyme.

That midnight the full moon was bright.
    The forest darkened with delight.
Between fresh thoughts I sensed a black
And heavy club and when that smack
Upon my head left me confused
    I floated free, alive, amused.
Where was that emptiness I feared?
Light, soothing light, about me neared.

    pitch black
    not matter how
    you track
    in the darkness of night
    you appear to stark bright
    at the edges of whites
    of moonlight and the stars.
    clear is what you veer.
