    Flowing Crimson

    Her blowing crimson-colored hair,
    Like flames of wayward fire,
Caught those who strayed too long to stare
    Then struggled with desire.

    regrets that bleed in hues
    of raw umber, bitter coffee
    and burnt sienna

    Eggplant Recipes

    There was a happy eggplant.
    He had a purplish hue.
He looked so peaceful growing there,
But now he's in my stew.

When Vermeer painted "Woman in Blue"
And the "Girl With a Pearl Earring" too
He ground the Lapis Lazuli stone
On his own, in his home
    for the perfect hue
    of blue.

    Pearl

    Opaque
    purity
    inciting much desire
    while concealing
    secrets,
    reveling nothing,
    clouded beauty
    it seems so passive,
    while creating
    such turmoil,
    taunting sensuality
    a truth coated
    behind many lies,
    how chaste
    while so oft
    the cause
    of new fallen blood
    bit it only calmly
    waits untouched.

The smartest Turkish folks have strange eyes
Not grass green nor as blue as the skies
    This odd color was named
By an old king, who claimed
That "there's wise, and then there's Turk wise."

    Clear

    Peering through the clearing
    Missing what is there,
Clear as ice, and more-so, nice.
I skipped the clear, fresh air.

    Remember when
    diamonds danced
    on every tip
    of bright sky blue
    rippled waters,
    and sunshine
    cast lights on walls
    among shadows?
    Ah, young love.

a poem just a bit late I'd like to share:

    Sierra Blue and Gold

    Bright sky blue
    eager dews
    Alpine lakes
    crisp and cool
    Sierra's refuge
    earth and sky
    Golden treasures
    forever near

    7/13/2013 r.8/9/2013

Partially borrowed from a cacian poem:

    Scorpio

    the mystery
    in your eyes
    is like the
    nocturnal sea -
    cold
    midnight blue;
    seething -
    as nothing
    is hidden
    from your gaze

Silver Sparkles on the Pockets of Her Jeans

    They sparkle silvery, shiny, bright.
The pockets on her jeans love light
And when she walks her hip-flip sway
    Will hypnotize the boys today.

    Topaz Skies

Sing to me of topaz skies
    Feel my heartbeat quaver
as I gaze into your eyes
    Say you love, love

    Feel my heartbeat quaver
Sing to me of topaz skies

    Misty Pink

Too light be a proper pink,
Too dark to doubt it's not,
It's misty, shy, so one might think.
Up close it's just as hot.
