    colours poetry

write a poem describing a colour then suggest a new colour
for the next contestant to write about

    Topaz

    topaz is rose
    to silken bows
    it runs through
    ryes and water maze
    it symbolises happier skies
    under the sun
    topaz has glows
    over the moon
    and further roons

    next Amethyst
    it may never try
but when it does it sigh
    it is just that
    good
    it fly

I can't see this lasting very long, but people can get pretty creative, I suppose!

    The seventh chakra,
    Attached to divine
    Said to be colour
    Of amethyst fine

    Sahasrara's wheel turns,
At the crown of the head
    High consciousness
    Dreams unsaid.

I was thinking of adding more stanzas, but I think that's fine as is.

    The next colour, is indigo.
There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written or badly written. ~Oscar Wilde.

    When I think of indigo
I don't really know what color that is.
But we learned it is in the rainbow.
Though I still don't know what it is.

    Next: Red.

    Orange

    Fire's blushing glow
    a burst of warmth,
    refreshing with the
    taste of summer,
    tingling upon the tongue,
    the scent of a cooling
    breeze, vibrant
    it paints the sky
    at dawns wakening,
    balanced between
    sweetness and tart,
    rousing childhood
    memories,
    a comfort for the promises
    of another day.

Okk I'll give it a shot...

Deeper than most, this enigma; ghostly layers and coats
adepts and fools engulfed, engrossed, rolling coast to coast
its bass line hums are hymns, beneath the deepest seas
it does not float yet it drifts, eloped, it edges through the trees

spiralling and reminiscent, tones, veils and water washed hues
so far yet so close, like fog, when drawn reveals no hints or clues
passive, evasive and melancholy, in fun it will find your misery
surrounding silence, seen then unseen, depth, distant, mystery...

    Next will have to be...

    surreal watery green
    yellowy to sultry pure
    it shines in radiant plure
    resembling sandy dunes
    jaded and earthy true
    it's diamond with a hue
    forever settling dew

bold and bright, you can't ignore
far from mellow, couldn't be more
loves the attention, rest be assured
even the sun, agrees with the score
the colour of stars, so seems preferred
but if you stare, your vision will blur
high order reserved, bolder than words
seen in the flowers and feathers of birds
and from Sol's glory, ironic is this:
within his bright rays, all colours exist
without it are none, and how about the twist-
Cadmium Yellow: derived from cow piss

    Vermillion skies
    over a China sea,
    a woman in red silk,
    dragons seem to dance
    around her curves,
    the aroma of Jasmine lingering
    on the warm summer air,
    Alchemical potions
    creating dragon's fire,
    a hot sulfuric breath,
    a dash of mercury
    stirred within, a
    pigment of
    molten sunfire
    emerges.

    Next: Cyan

    Cyan Surfing

For the serious system traveler the cyan waters off
the tropical beaches of Sol 3 breathtakingly beckon
But be wary of the indigenous life forms and limit your
µwave exposure to ⅜ sols or you'll be taken for bacon

However the best surfing around is found at Sol 7
where the zealous shred the cyan clouds; ionizing the
rarefied air, red-shifting the sky from celeste to electric
blue and back again - as subtle as the dews of heaven

A glassy blue before my eyes
    Rose colored glasses crystallize
My heart sinks into brilliant blue
What the hell am I gonna do?
    Seeing everything through this azure
    Doesn't have a strong allure
I love to stay, but I'm passing through
    In ultramarine shades of blue...

    puce
    how you induce
    and fuse
    looking terribly cused
    a sharp element of rouge
and all is turned to blues
