    Dorothy Dunnett?

As a Wallace, I've recently been trying to expand my knowledge of Scottish history. There's a six hour BBC documentary on YouTube which is great, so I thought I'd follow up with a novel. Stumbled upon Dorothy Dunnett's Game of Kings and thought I'd give it go. She seems to be widely praised so I wondered if anyone here has read her work.

    Thanks

My father's a big fan, and on his advice I got her six-book Lymond Chronicles (of which Game of Kings is the first). I started reading it on the bus one day, but it became clear pretty quickly that I would need a dictionary by me, so I put it aside and just haven't gotten back to it yet.
