Scooby Doo is my favorite dog (after Lassie, that is). Thank you, MystyrMystyry, for that, and of course, the hugs. I am doing quite well today, aren't I? *Hugs MystyrMystyry.*

Thank you, Delta, Yuka, Snowqueen, and SilentMute!! You guys are all that-and more.

And thank you, Gilliatt. (Looks around) I'm sure I can find some place to put my new little friend.

Yeah, Hawkman, it's a little tough in my position as an official preraphaelite mermaid being dignified next to all these giant armadillos we've got running around, but I try, I try.

What can I say, Fifth? The Mary Oliver poem is beautiful and is now one of my favorites, for sure! Love the kitty cake, and my day is complete with the addition of the chocolates. You are too generous, my friend!

Themis, Farnoosh, Lokasenna, Papaya, my warmest thanks.

And Aliengirl! That cake is awesome!

Happy Birthday!
One has to laugh before being happy, because otherwise one risks to die before having laughed.

Thank you, Paul, and Mona and Kiki! It was a great day. My sons did an outstanding job of planning something nice. They got me a gorgeous watch and took me out for dinner and a movie. We had a wonderful time.

All in all it was a really special day.

Happy Birthday, Qimi!

An interview with Qimissung:

*Why are we doing this interview thing?*
Because it's my birthday?

*Are you sure you want to do this?*
Yeah

Why would you want that?
Doesn't everybody enjoy being center stage for one brief, fleeting moment in their lives?

*So, how old are you?*
Old enough.

*If you had a personal theme song what would it be?*
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYYiaZcuEuk

I thirst to be thirsty in Montego Bay.

*Are you male or female? *
Female, although I think we've reached the point where we need to include more options in that question.

*Do you like red cars?*
meh

*If you owned the site, what would you change?
*

Not a thing

*What was the inspiration for your LitNet username?*
It's just a name I liked. You know, if you think about it it sounds like I'm singing all the time.

*Which countries have you visited?*
England, France, Holland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the usual suspects.

*Which languages do you speak?*
English. Bland, boring English.

*How do you like your home town?*
I like it fine; it is a part of me.

*If you could live somewhere different, where would it be and why?*
I'd really like to have homes in different places, and I would like to move frequently. I'd like a home on Cape Cod, two in France (an apartment in Paris, and one in Provence), four in Italy (Capri, Tuscany and an apartment in Rome and an ancient pallazzo in Venice).

*Do you have any pets?*
Yes. Cats, currently.

*What makes you happy?*
Living in harmony with people I love.

*Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism? *
I would like to sit in the hand of God.

*Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?*
Maybe Whitney Cummings if she was shorter and quite a bit older, and wore glasses, had short hair and weighed about ten pounds more. You get the picture.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWqmbDrIgT8

The last scene in particular seems to sum up my persona.

Who is your favourite Beatle?
Paul. They all have their good points, though.

*How do you like your coffee? *
With plenty of cream and sugar.

*Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?*
a snow leopard.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher. What was I thinking?

*What's the biggest fish you've ever caught?*
I'm not sure I've ever caught a fish. I have caught crawdads, however.

*What makes you feel great about yourself?*
Getting something right.

*How did you meet your significant other?*
I only have a possible significant other at the moment.

*Who inspires you most?*
TheFifthElement

*What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)*
Good question.

*What is the one thing you must do before you die?*
love generously

*Is there a selfless act?*
I'm sure there is somewhere in the world.

*If you had to teach something, what would you teach?*
When to speak up and when to be quiet

*What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?*
Being less afraid

*If you were to be stuck at a particular time in your life, which one would you choose and why?*
When my children were small

*Do you get tired living life?*
No, never. I love eating, drinking, sleeping and talking.

*Do you have a tasty recipe for life that you could share for a reasonable price? … Is it REALLY tasty?*
It's all right to have a good time. (Thaddeus Golas)

*What method do you cherish above all others, as means to improving your life?*
Reflecting.

*What one thing would you NEED to have on a deserted island if you didn't have to worry over food and water? *
Not to be ironic, but some good escapist literature.

*If you were a king/queen for a day, what would you do?*
Shout "Off with their heads!" all day, but I wouldn't really mean it, then I would ask for a little bit of butter for my bread.

*What’s the stupidest forum argument you’ve ever had?*
Surely you jest. None of mine are ever stupid.

*What song is in your head at the moment?*
Well, right NOW it's Montego Bay, but I would like to take the opportunity to put this in other people's head:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa4100JFb6o

I like paperleaves and psychehinaboat's. You didn't ask, but if I could have, I would also have the username "psycheinaboat." I love her name. Try saying it over and over. It's awesome.

*Favorite threads?*
I like the blogs.

What's your favorite sandwich?
bologna with Miracle Whip and mustard, and Lay's potato chips, on the side, although on the sandwich is also good (I did not capitalize the word bologna on purpose. It is not a word that should be capitalized, even if it's the first word in a sentence).

*What is your answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything?*?
Let "...reality and unreality collide on such a fundamental level that each becomes the other and anything is possible within certain parameters."

Or

Be here now.

Either/or.

Who were some of the nicest people you met on LitNet?
Don't you mean "are"? Really, the nicest person here is TheComedian. Don't we all really want to be him? Anyway, Fifth, Janine, Snowqueen, PrinceMyshkin, jersea, pussnboots, Virgil, Paul, kittypaws, Neely, MystyrMystyry, JuniperWoolf, OrphanPip, Scher, MorpeheusSandman, Delta, Haunted, Mary, Max,
Comedian, Yuka, Olga4Real, Zoolane, Helga, SilentMute, AuntShecky, Niamh, Nic, Gilliatt. I apologize if I left anyone out.

*What are you wearing at the moment?*
Olive capris and a purple shirt. I'm barefoot. One should be barefoot as often as possible.
*Favorite poem?*

Love Is Not All

Love is not all: it is not meat nor drink
Nor slumber nor a roof against the rain;
Nor yet a floating spar to men that sink
And rise and sink and rise and sink again;
Love can not fill the thickened lung with breath,
Nor clean the blood, nor set the fractured bone;
Yet many a man is making friends with death
Even as I speak, for lack of love alone.
It well may be that in a difficult hour,
Pinned down by pain and moaning for release,
Or nagged by want past resolution's power,
I might be driven to sell your love for peace,
Or trade the memory of this night for food.
It well may be. I do not think I would.

Edna St. Vincent Millay
*First novel you remember reading on your own?*
The Boxcar Children

*What era do you find most of the books you read are from?*

See above. I'd love to meet everybody.

*Last words you said out loud?*
Good night.

*Last person you hugged/kissed?*
My sons

*What do you do (for a living) to be able to keep your LitNet addiction going? And are you happy with your chosen profession?*
I'm a teacher; I like it OK. I wish I could just let my students learn. I often feel like I"m supposed to make them learn.

*Would you rather be an educated fool or an ignorant fool?*
Is there a difference?

*What would you like to be if you could change your profession?*
a writer and a painter.

*Which one of the seven dwarves are you and why?*
Grumpy, cause that's how I feel when faced with life's onerous responsibilities.

*What is your most outstanding feature?*
H-m-m-m. Still thinking about that one.

*If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?*
Everything. If I wan't an ignorant fool I'm sure it would be nothing.

*Which book do you wish you had written?*
The Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment (by Thaddeus Golas).

*What book would you recommend to others of all types and ages as a must read?*
"The Wind in the Willows."

*What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?*
There is nothing else I should be doing.

*Describe your ideal day, please.*
I get up and all the doors and windows are open and the sun is shining and a cool breeze is floating through the house and sunbeams are everywhere;
I read a fun book all day, stopping occasionally to eat or talk inconsequentially to someone who walks through, and later I hear bustling in the kitchen and good smells, and someone is cooking hamburgers on the grill and we eat and talk until it gets dark, and there are fireflies and wine.

*Favorite movie?*
I have lots of favorite movies. One of my favorites is "Searching for Bobby Fischer."

*Last movie you watched?
Colombiana. It was good. I highly recommend it.

[*How are you going to pick just one favourite painting?*
Yes, how are you going to pick just one? Personally, I am very fond of Marc Chagall.

B]Do you want to buy a banana?
I can think of nothing more I'd rather do.

*Favorite painting?*
http://krisstina47.blogspot.com/2009/02/httpwww.html

Bowie, yay or nay?
Yay!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSHY1_ux8rs

*Wonderful Superman or depressing Batman?*
Their both cool, but I want to fly!

*Something you want to forget but you never can?*
Everything-and nothing.

If you could relive one moment in your life whenever you wanted to, what would it be?

The moment I found I made the President's Honor Roll in college. Or it might be the evening I was watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch with my six year old son, and he turned his head away just as they showed the inner workings of Salem the talking cat. Either/or.

What is the best thing that happened to you since your last birthday?
Peace of mind.

*If you could send one thing to the Room 101, one would that be?*
bosses

*Are you mostly happy with life or are you still in pursuit?*[/B
both

Tell us something scandalous about yourself.
Lean closer, no, a little closer....

*How long did it take you to answer all of these questions?*
Too long.

*When will you pay Whifflingpin?*
The check is in the mail.

*One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?*
There is nothing you need to do first in order to be enlightened.

*What question would you like to ask to the person to be interview after you?
Have you heard the news today, oh boy?
~
"It is not that I am mad; it is only that my head is different from yours.”
