Okay I'll start with this below.
Bukowski is a jam tart, soft on inside and hard on outside.
I thoroughly enjoy Bukowski's stories and poems though I believe they appeal to the younger audiences (I'm 20) because what he talks about is often taboo and socially controversial. I would be interested to see whether or not the older, more experienced readers on this forum have an interest or respect for the man.

That's great! Glad to hear it. I was mostly trying to put the point across that many younger readers simply read Bukowski because of his reputation, not necessarily what his ideas are, you know?
Bukowski is cool by me and am an old goat.
I am older and have no interest in reading Bukowski ....
not because I'm older, but because his writing stinks.
