    In need of finding a certain 'ol poem

    Many years ago, while in school, I had to memorize a poem and read it in class. I have forgotten the title, author, and much of the poem. What little I can remember are bits of the verses. Can anyone help?
    Here are parts I scarcely remember: I see skies so bright and blue... I see trees so tall and wide, there green leaves brush against the sky. I see birds and hear them sing, like angels that have taken wing. These things I know you'll never find, because my dear, you see, I'm blind.
    For some reason, it seems to creep back into my journaling and quiet time. If anyone knows the poem, I would really appreciate the help.
    Thanks, rbred

    This is so strange; the same poem haunts my memory. It was a poem in our reader when I was in Sacred Heart School in Groton, Conn. I think another line is " I see flowers fairer far, than any in your garden are". I am a new poster, if you ever find the poem, please let me know too. Thanks so much. Dixie

    Name of poem " Sight "

    Well rbred, it only took me three years to run this poem down. Hope you look back on these archives once in a while. Here it is:

    I see skies more bright and blue
    Than any skies beheld by you,
    I see trees so tall and high
    Their green leaves brush against the sky,
    I see birds (and hear them sing)
    Like rainbows that have taken wing;
    I see flowers fairer far,
    Than any in your garden are,
    These lovely sights you'll never find,
    Becauseómy dear, you see; I'm blind.

    When I want something figured out, I think I'm going to have you work for me.

    O how may I ever express that secret word? - By Kabir

    O how may I ever express that secret word?
    O how can I say He is not like this, and He is like that?
    If I say that He is within me, the universe is ashamed:
    If I say that He is without me, it is falsehood.
    He makes the inner and the outer worlds to be indivisibly one;
    The conscious and the unconscious, both are His footstools.
    He is neither manifest nor hidden, He is neither revealed nor unrevealed:
    There are no words to tell that which He is.
    I am not a Hindu,
    Nor a Muslim am I!
    I am this body, a play
    Of five elements; a drama
    Of the spirit dancing
    With joy and sorrow.
