    I read it this Christmas. It is better than The Battle of Life (which I also read) but not a patch on A Christmas Carol. It is a variant on the Faustian pact - the principal character is tempted to change himself for the better, but is less than human as a result.

    I have stared reading it. It seems to be written in quite a different style than A Christmas Carol. It seems flatter and not as easy to follow.

    I've read it too! I've wondered why this one seems not to have reached the screen at all.
