"L'art de la statistique est de tirer des conclusions erronèes a partir de chiffres exacts." Napoléon Bonaparte.
"Je crois que beaucoup de gens sont dans cet état d’esprit: au fond, ils ne sentent pas concernés par l’Histoire. Mais pourtant, de temps à autre, l’Histoire pose sa main sur eux." Michel Houellebecq.
nouveau cuisine (as well as the fact)
"To be perfectly honest"
I like these words as they provide fodder for humour. How am I going to feel superior unless someone else uses daft words.
I have a soft spot for "epic". I feel I was in on that one at its miscarriage.
epiphany, when used in place of Eureka
Voices mysterious far and near,
Sound of the wind and sound of the sea,
Are calling and whispering in my ear,
Whifflingpin! Why stayest thou here?
'Worklessness'. Sadly it's probably going to be the word of 2011, but it grates on my nerves.

I agree with all of them (except using Google as a verb), especially "epic," "fail," and "I'm just sayin'," even though I say them all sometimes.
And, I know what you mean, Prendrelemick. I felt like I was in on "fail" and "epic," but now it's just overused fratboy talk.
"Monetized" -- Not on the current list, but maybe in previous years? Hearing "monetized" is like the proverbial fingernail scratch on a blackboard.

A real cool site I chanced upon whilst searching for a way to say 'goodbye' without it sounding final
p.s. I've got nothing against 'goodbye' - I just wanted a way to say if friendlier, temporary

I agree with Julio Appling on the "I'm just sayin'" phrase.
Books completed in 2011:
- Shadow of the Hegemon - Orson Scott Card
- The Inferno - Dante Alighieri
- The Iliad - Homer
"Homer was on the rowing team at his high school." ~My grandfather
When people use the phrase, or its relations, "I don't mean to be rude but.." or "I don't want to cause a fuss but..."
Yes you do.
