Why was it so important to have a completley controlled government during that time? Is it necessary to track everyones movements and facial expressions at all times? Big Brother's total control of the people in this society is because they don't trust them whatsoever. They're always aware that if they don't keep the people uneducated, then they could start to become unhappy and question this unfair government.
