    Delta's River of Poems Thread

    Double Trouble

You opened a Pandora floodgate of worms
and cooked my goose so now I must lie in it
Oh to close the gate when there is
    an elephant in the room
or change horses in a creek without a paddle
But my ill wind bites the hand which feeds it
and you pour the baby out with spilled beans

Love how you mix different objects and idioms to form new combinations. Filled with fun and surprises!

"But do you really, seriously, Major Scobie," Dr. Sykes asked, "believe in hell?"
    "Oh, yes, I do."
    "In flames and torment?"
"Perhaps not quite that. They tell us it may be a permanent sense of loss."
"That sort of hell wouldn't worry me," Fellowes said.
"Perhaps you've never lost anything of importance," Scobie said.

You're getting in some pretty deep bathwater here Delta, but written with that trademark flourish of your pen fixed firmly in your cheek.

And I could have sworn I'd posted on this earlier today - must be slipping.

Its a little bumpy but I think if I play around with mixed metaphors, it could read better. I am going to post stuff I write on this thread from now on, given the recent feedback in Aunt Shecky's thread

I just love the mixing of metaphors!! At the end of the day, it will shine like the stars, or I will be as sick as a parrot. It's a poem of two halves, narmean?

As long as you remember most of the technical feedback (new guidelines for multi-postings etc.) were posted by those who drop in here once in a blue moon. But I'll still keep dipping my feet in the river (whether you like it or not!).

I won't be multi-posting - just keeping it all in one place.

Delta, if you only have one poem for the day, you can still do an individual thread like you always did. Just because some people said / suggest a continuing thread doesn't mean you have to follow it.

Delta, your stuff is too damn good to be lost...... there is, as Haunted said, no objection to posting but one per day, or if the muse brings more thn one, THENa single thread, but do not let your stuff be lost by pandering to the base desires of a minority. Post them individually, and with pride. Please.

I know guys but I want to see if it changes how I post too. I'm tired of the to & fro debate and sort of want to lose myself in a single thread for a while at least.

That's ok too Delta, try it. I mostly hide behind my multi poem Trashy thread, I feel safe, no one can complain I litter mediocre poems all over the Personal Poetry section.

"But do you really, seriously, Major Scobie," Dr. Sykes asked, "believe in hell?"
    "Oh, yes, I do."
    "In flames and torment?"
"Perhaps not quite that. They tell us it may be a permanent sense of loss."
