Many years ago, I read a story in a lit class that I enjoyed, but cannot remember the author or name of the story. It has been so long that I do not even recall the whole of the story. I do know some details by heart, and was hoping someone could help me figure this out.

We were reading excerpts and short stories from authors like Ray Bradbury, Jules Verne, Nathanial Hawthorne and Shirley Jackson. The story I am interested in is futuristic in nature, and is set in a world that is always overcast. The sun never shines and the world is a bleak and hopeless place. I remember a wedding. The bride wore a yellow dress to signify happiness and the hope of having sunshine in their lives. They went on a journey, and I believe at the end the couple found a place where the clouds started to break and a beam of sunlight could be seen. Unfortunately, that's all I remember, and after all these years, could be inaccurate.

If anyone happens to remember this story, any information would be helpful.
