An online Bible translation cross-referencing tool?

    Hi,

I'm looking for an online tool or site that allows you to compare the various (English) translations side by side, verse by verse. Specifically, I'm interested in the Book of Jonah, and which translations use the word "tempestuous" and which do not... I figure a tool like that could be enormously helpful in answering a question like that. And I'm sure there are dozens of such tools out there -- in fact I remember running across one once -- but I don't know any by name.

    Thanks in advance,
    Abras

Thanks for replying, but that's not really what I'm looking for. I would prefer something that feature side-by-side comparisons of various English translations... I hope I've made myself clear. If not, please let me know!

This is an excellent tool that is completely without denominational influence (that I am aware of).

I'm sure the ones mentioned are great (I love biblegateway) but I don't think that's what you want.

blueletterbible.com works perfectly for what you want. When you first go on it will ask you for just one translation (don't worry you can change it later) so choose one and the passage you want and then next to each verse will be different symbols. If you click the box with the 'v' in it (versions) it will give you side by side translations and versions for that verse- english and hebrew. (NIV, KJV, NLT, etc...)Hope that helps!

I find the Blue Letter Bible site to be most helpful, so thank you, AdoreroDio...
