Have you read WH?
If so you will know the plot hinges on the differences in class beween Heathcliffe and the Earnshaws.
Heathcliffe, an orphan, is taken in by them and raised as one of their own sons, but when the patron of the family dies the eldest son, Hindley forces Heathcliffe to take on the role of servant (more in keeping with his true position in society).
Cathy who grew up loving Heathcliffe as a 'brother' similarly disowns Heathcliffe when she is tutored in how to behave as a lady, and Heathcliffe's attempts to dress to impress fail miserably.
Cathy even marries someone else, even though she loved Heathcliffe, in order to uphold the social standards of the age. The final irony is that Heathcliffe finally becomes master of 'Wuthering Heights'.
So you have enough material there to examine the social tensions that led to Cathy and Heathcliffe's love affair being doomed, and that allowed Hindley to treat his adopted brother so cruelly (and the motivation behind Heathcliffe's revenge that resulted in him finally becoming lord and master - by which time Cathy was able to marry him).
