    Fun With Avatars

A while back a thread was posted for poets to write a poem about their own avatar. I came up with the idea to write a poem about the avatar of a fellow litnetter, anyone you choose other then your own.

The poem can be of any type, style, length. It would be nice if you could state in your post the members whose avatar you choose, so we can compare it to the poem and see where you drew your inspiration from.

And because this is just for fun, you can post poems for as many different avatars as you like.

Sounds a really 'fun' idea DM -

I'll start with one, if I may, to dizzydoll's charming avatar :

I told them we were flower children
    Love could conquer all
We ran around in birthday suits
    Like Eden before the fall
I thought we had the answers
How to make the whole world better
    But then reality kicked in
    So now I'm a LitNetter

    I cant believe it Walker.

But I must admit its a perfect poem and it definitely describes the atmosphere of Woodstock and the flower children who couldnt get enough of peace, love and rock and roll. So uncomplicated, idealistic and free... just what the doctor ordered. lol

This song describes how our generation feels about life:
    Dirty F@#*ing Hippies Were Right!

A great poem Walker, and it does capture the avatar well. I have an avatar in mind that has always intrigued me. Hopefully I will have a poem for it soon.

    Inspired by mazhur's avatar

    The Magic Man

    The smoke unfurls
    between us,
    hovering languidly,
    stirring in the stillness
    of the air, and like
    an illusion,
    you begin to fade
    it seems into the darkness.

    Your oracle eyes
    offer more questions
    than answers,
    while pensively
    awaiting the unknown
    to arrive.

    The vision burns
in the back of the mind
    as a subtle orange glow,
    and you remain,
    in the space caught
    in between.

You've described his avatar perfectly Dark Muse, I especially love this bit:

    Your oracle eyes
    offer more questions
    than answers,
    while pensively
    awaiting the unknown
    to arrive.

Dark Muse - as the instigator I thinlk your avatar has earned its own little verse.....

I'm not sure how relevant it is but this is what sprang to mind,

    My duelling scars have faded,
    Pain tempered by the years.
    But nothing burns as deeply
As the scald of silent tears.
