Classic TV Comedy Sketches

I was searching in vain for a old sketch which I knew was performed by a two-man comedy team. For some reason I believe that it originally appeared on Ed Sullivan rather than The Tonight Show, but it could have been any variety show.

For some reason I think the guys were Canadian, either
Wayne & Shuster or Pre-"Laugh-in" Rowan & Martin. In any event, it was way, way back in the early 60s and the duo portrayed two sportscasters going completely overboard with obscure baseball records and statistics, such as the number of hot dogs sold in the stadium on cloudy days, the percentage of fans wearing red hats, etc.

If anybody else remembers this particular sketch, could you identify it properly for me? Even better, if you find an on-line link to a video ( of a kinescope, given the era) I will be your LitNet friend forever!

Was it a Bob and Ray routine? I know they had some sportscaster characters that they performed.

Oh, yeah. I remember how they made fun of hooking up to remotes a split-second late, as when on-the-street reporter Wally Ballou took the mic? "-e Ballou here" But even though Bob and Ray, with their dry and subtle wit, were perhaps the greatest of all comedy teams, I don't believe they were the ones who did the baseball statistics sketch in question.
