mmmm..I guess I should have been more specific....late 09/early10 I suppose....just something current!

Two current books that I've read that really caught my attention, both were non-fiction:
The men who stare at goats- I cannot recommend this book enough to anyone interested in metaphysics and conspiracy theories (the movie is NOT a substitute).
The Mental Floss History of the World- a humorous run through the headlines of history with lots of interesting tid-bits mixed in.
I realized after my question, that it really doesn't matter if you meant 09 or 10 since I've read zero novels published in the last few years.
The most recent novel I read that was worthwhile was probably 'The Road' and that was not even in the author's top 5 best books.
It is not very often that I actually read recent/brand new books but I loved the book Stunt Road by Gregory Mose. A very unique and engaging book.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. ~ Edgar Allan Poe
You're right about that. Suttre was my fav, but did you read Child of God? That one was pretty...interesting.
Also I wanted to add a fairly new author I recently found: Walter Moers, his tale Rumo is crazy imaginative, a story about an orphaned puppy's journey into fundament-kicking sword-weilding maturity. And his The City of Dreaming Books, the journey of a Dinosaur author into a book-filled city of publishers, collectors, hunters and orators.
I don't mean to sound like a salesman, but they're good.
