    Comedy of Errors

I love Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors". Why is it that not many people know about this play?

Maybe because it is an early play that is not considered as sophisticated as some of his later comedies. Also, it tends to play better than it reads, so it's not often studied in schools.

This. It's an enjoyable read but it does not give the same Shakespeare experience as a lot of his other plays. Kids often don't get along too well with Shakespeare anyway so it's better to throw at them his best.

As has been said, it doesn't have the same lasting qualities in terms of character that the high comedies have (Twelfth Night, Midsummer's, Much Ado, Merchant, As you Like It).

That being said, I find that this is an underrated play, and out of the three "early comedies" (Comedy of Errors, Two Gentlemen, Taming of the Shrew) - this one is the best.
I wrote a poem on a leaf and it blew away...
