    I am the woman

    I AM THE WOMAN

    When a door opens
And a siren enters the room
    And every head turns
    I am that woman

    When the siren slinks
And you can hear a pin drop
    As the mouths fall open
    I am that woman

    When the wives tut
    And girlfriends whisper
    And men’s eyes undress
    I am that woman

When a mouth is just another orifice
    And conversing eye to eye
    Is really eye to breast
    I am that woman

    I am the woman
    Oozing sexual desire
    I am the woman
    Men and women picture naked
    I am the woman
    They all want to possess

    When you are valued
    For what’s between your legs
    Than between your ears
    I am that woman

When you are called a whore
    And treated like a slut
Viewed like a piece of meat
    I am that woman

    They call me tart
    They call me siren,
    They call me temptress
    They call me vamp

I want to be called sweetheart
I want to be called darling
I want to be called mum

    I am the woman
    Considered to be desirable
    I am the woman
    That oozes sexuality
    I am the woman
Who can have any man she chooses
    I am the woman
    Who wants to be chosen
By a man who can see me!

Biggus, I have never read anything about a woman more alluring. This is a fantastic poem. Here the woman is fully manifested; the woman who is so capable and the woman who is the womb of this creation; the woman who is the creator of everything, the Great Mother, the mother of the entire universe. Yes she is the one who birthed man and she was the one who presented herself as a piece of flesh for man to savor. She is the one Mary and Magdalene, a seducer and a savior. She can satiate our primal desires of procreation and laps us as a Mother figure. I salute this woman, this mother, this wife, this seducer, this slut, a lump of flesh that man devours all the time, the Freudian woman who engages men across all ages from a baby to an elderly.

She of course oozes desires, sexualities, all and man simply is a tool, insubstantial in the hand of the Great Mother or Seducer.

So many feelings wrap up me at the same time and I could not contain myself when swayed by the feelings you aroused within me and this is a sheer drop of me, and the ocean is yet to be poured out. Maybe I will express the welling up feelings inside me after reading your matchless poem afterwards

“Those who seek to satisfy the mind of man by hampering it with ceremonies and music and affecting charity and devotion have lost their original nature””

“If water derives lucidity from stillness, how much more the faculties of the mind! The mind of the sage, being in repose, becomes the mirror of the universe, the speculum of all creation.

You poem pretty much sums women up. I liked the last verse especially and it could work all on its own too.

    I am the woman
    Considered to be desirable
    I am the woman
    That oozes sexuality
    I am the woman
Who can have any man she chooses
    I am the woman
    Who wants to be chosen
By a man who can see me!

    Good job.

    It is very good Biggus.
    The comment by Blazeofglory
is a beautiful answer to it and
I could do no better than to
    echo his response.

Very powerful. It reminds me of the movie, Silence of the Lambs, which is all about the evil of men objectifying women. An extremely sublime and well-done, if disturbing, movie.

    Very powerful sentiment here. Cheers.

    Hi Biggus,

On the whole I applaud what you are saying but there are a couple of errors in the text which spoil the overall effect.

First, S2 L2 should be, 'hear'.

    "When you are valued
    For what’s between your legs
    Than between your ears
    I am that woman"

Doesn't read quite right for me.

    I would suggest:

    When you are valued more
    for what's between your legs
    than in between your ears
    I am that woman.

I also feel that the reiteration of previously expressed sentiments in the last stanza is unnecessary. However, these are only my observations. generally the poem says a lot and says it well. good one. H

As a feminist I have to say this is one of my favorites that I've read here on Litnet. Well done!
