    Hamlet Essay

Hello! I'm having a little trouble on my Hamlet essay and was wondering if any could help. The question is "whose mind is pulled in conflicting directions by two compelling desires, ambitions, obligations, or influences." Then I have to identify those 2 conflicting forces. I didn't read Hamlet that well so if anyone could tell me which character best matches that, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

I'll give you a clue for the first half of the question, it's in the title.

I was also gonna say: do your own homework.
One has to laugh before being happy, because otherwise one risks to die before having laughed.

    didn't read Hamlet that well
Go back and read it again, more carefully. Read some analysis of it, you can find a lot online, to help you understand it. You probably should have paid more attention in class.

    Bottom line:

Read a synopsis, a summary of what happened, then read the play again. I'm sure you have notes in your Hamlet copy. Watch a film if you're further confused.

I'm sure you could guess at least one character, nudge nudge...

Hamlet is about a little pig that is eventually dethroned by King James Dean.

OP: the easiest way out of your dilema is to go to the online source Sparks Notes. Very helpful.

Of course - they don't come here until they need to, and are then instantly put off by a lot of abuse from bunch of prigs. What a welcome.

    Voices mysterious far and near,
Sound of the wind and sound of the sea,
Are calling and whispering in my ear,
    Whifflingpin! Why stayest thou here?

Cool Why welcome seekers of a free academic ride ?

They contribute nothing and usually have but one or two posts. I don't usually read them, but I like to see them ignored.
