I have to write an assignment for my literature class about Ernest Hemmingway's 'A clean well-lighted place' and I'm a bit stuck with the narratological analysis. If anyone can help me please? I would be very thankful
I think I can pull the analysis off, but the thing is that everything starts with the focalization. So if I would get that wrong, the rest of my analysis would be a bit contradictive. My question now is: What's the focalization of this short story? Are we dealing with an external or an internal focalisator? (! I was told that this is NOT the same as a simple narrator)
And could someone also explain me how this is shown?
