You could look at books about women in Shakespeare; feminists like to focus on the Hippolyta/Theseus relationship. Theseus basically conquered her country and took her by force.

I'm afraid AMSND isn't in there but many of the comedies are:

And if you look at versions of the play which have critical notes and introductions, they give you a list of related books to read.
