I used to not like napping but now that I know how to do it correctly I'm a fan. I would love to nap out on my balcony but the swing isn't built for napping. When I'm fixin' to take a nap I usually head for the couch, where do ya'll go?

Do, or do not. There is no try. - Yoda
Used to be repelled nap time (when I was say maybe six), but now it's just plain addicting

Whatever is most convenient I can sleep anywhere!
'...A cast of your skull, sir, until the original is available, would be an ornament to any anthropological museum. It is not my intention to be fulsome, but I confess that I covet your skull.' --Dr. Mortimer, The Hound of the Baskervilles
I can't nap, as soon as I start to nod off, I get these really annoying adrenaline rushes which snap me right back to consciousness. It doesn't really makes me less tired, it just makes actually getting to sleep virtually impossible. And if I do, by some miracle of heaven, fall asleep, I am ridiculously grouchy when I wake up. I remember some former roommates doing everything they could to stop me from taking naps if I was tired, bribing me with all kinds of things, it was very lucrative for me.
the luminous grass of the prairie hides
feet lovely and still as sleeping doves,
porcelain bones strong enough to carry a life,
but weighty and unmovable
As black Dakota hills. ~ Riesa
The strangest place I've ever napped is in a road-side ditch. I was biking along a gravel farm road in the northern prairies of the US and just needed a rest. So I pulled off to the side of the road and fell asleep in the ditch next to a tuft of grass and an old Coke can.

Hi guys, the truth is I will sleep anywhere, so long as it is warm. I have fallen asleep in the most unusual places. Even on a chair in the kitchen resting my head on the Kitchen table. Fell asleep at the computer once and woke up with a page of zzzzzzzz's all over a novel I was writing. I have fallen asleep in the cinemas. Friends home... Sofa's, bean bags, floors (yes - hard floors) beds. Where ever I fall is where I land.
I'm a professional napper, I can take a nap practically anywhere.
For many summers I would drive to the sticks and ride my bicycle for two minutes, then put down a towel and go right to sleep under some shade. That was my summer indulgence, Phase I.
Phase II. I moved to the sticks, so there's no reason to even leave my house. I have a 6-foot wood bench on my deck and I'd nap there with one of my cats, Apricot, sleeping on my chest.
One of my favorite nap moments is on a moving train, I like the rocking when it's going somewhere. When it stalls, that wakes me up. Some evenings I'd just crash on the floor pillows in front of the tv in the middle of my tv shows, but I'd always stay wide awake for NCIS
"But do you really, seriously, Major Scobie," Dr. Sykes asked, "believe in hell?"
"In flames and torment?""Oh, yes, I do."
"That sort of hell wouldn't worry me," Fellowes said."Perhaps not quite that. They tell us it may be a permanent sense of loss."
"Perhaps you've never lost anything of importance," Scobie said.
I usually nap on the couch but I just don't have the time to nap these days. when I was younger, about 13 to 17 I'd go to the balcony with a mattress a pillow and a blanket and sleep for hours.. but then again I also loved sleeping at night under the table in the living room. my mom hated it, I was about 10 when I started it and did every now and then 'till I was 17 or so.

I can't usually relax enough to sleep and when I do everything at my house goes wrong. I've taken two naps this year. During the first nap my two boys decided to hike to the Adirondack Mountains. They took the first aid kit and the dog, but only made it to my neighbors house which is right at mile away. During the second nap they got into some fresh dirt left in our yard after having some dirt work done and got muddy from head to toe. You couldn't even tell what clothes they were wearing. I guess I'm the only one who knows that kids don't just watch themselves and it's not all bonbons and soap operas.
