Question about Edgar Allan Poe quote

Okay, so I want to know if anyone knows what this quote from Edgar Allan Poe means...

"Scorching my seared heart with a pain, not hell shall make me fear again!"

So what do you think? What did he mean by that?

If you look up these words in a dictionary, you will probably get a good idea.

The quote means that he has felt severe pain that no other pain could ever make him feel worse. He is numb to all pain other then that of which his heart has felt.

It means that the person has faced insufferable amount of pain that he would be indifferent to any further pain, even the pain of hell.

perhaps that he suffers so much that hell can not possibly be worse... ?

I concur with what everyone else said.

"Scorching my seared heart with a pain, not hell shall make me fear again!"

His heart is already seared, which means he has already taken pains beyond the present one. He thus declares that because of these pains, or more specifically, because of the present pain, he has nothing else to fear, not even hell itself. If I had the context of the quote, I might be of more help, but for the time being I'm not interested enough to look it up myself.
