    If [i]Hyperion and The Fall of Hyperion win, should we treat them as one book or two (read them in two months)? They are together about 550 pages.

    Well, considering they are being elected in as one book, perhaps we should treat them as such, 550 pages isn't that bad.

    We suggest "Hyperion" and "The Fall of Hyperion".
    It is science fiction, but far from shallow or anything like that. They are very deep and consider topics such as immortality, poetry, parently love, ecology and religion and gods. Have won the Hugo, Locus, Prix-cosmos, Seiun-Sho, Japan Hugo, British SF, SF chronicle awards (plus tFoH was a Nebula finalist).
    If you believe even a half of this post, you are severely mistaken.

    Wow, this looks very interesting, never having seen a four-way tie.
    Regardless, I still hope for Gut Symmetries by Jeanette Winterson.
