    Sangria and Smoke

    Redder-than-blood sangria
    washed over a blood orange
which is too bright to be blood
As you took my glass from me
    Our eyes met
    A rolling curtain of smoke
    danced in your face
blue and gray smoke swirled violently
    I took my glass back
and it crushed in my hand
    Expensive delicate crystal
    A gift from a friend
who does not know the real me
Finally the sight of real blood
After a bottle and a half of fakes
    You lit me a smoke
    while I poured another
    You with your smoke-
    me with my blood-
And the moment passed like all of our best ones-

    In silence
Carving lucky charms out of these hard luck bones

Beautiful. I loved the imagery this was quite stunning I really enjoyed it

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. ~ Edgar Allan Poe

Nice work Cellar. I particularly liked the ending:
    You lit me a smoke
    while I poured another
    You with your smoke-
    me with my blood-
And the moment passed like all of our best ones-

    In silence

The lines Virgil quoted were my favorite as well but the imagery was pretty poignant throughout! Have you ever seen a movie called "The Hunger" with Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie and Susan Sarandon. I still think it's one of the most sensual vampire movies ever. This reminded me of it.

Sophia- never heard of that movie- wasn't really trying to channel vamps here, but i could see how it could be interpreted that way...
    Virgil- glad you liked it!
