good luck
The beautiful red haired girl,
With a smile like a sunflower
Lives by the lake in a castle
I wish her bell tolled for me
But dreams can go unanswered...
Pendragon
Some of us laugh
Some of us cry
Some of us smoke
Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...
From the sunflower castle
came the fairy with her wish bell
where she found the beautiful
red-haired girl beside the lake
and greeted her with a smile
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. ~ Edgar Allan Poe
at castle lake
at castle lake a
red hair girl beguiles
her beautiful smile
a sigh from a
sunflower
fulfilling wishes
bells and whistles
a body of water

Beautiful girl
sunflower girl
kept, alas, in the castle
Your smile sounds wish bells
your red hair haunts
the silver lake.

a red hair girl
With anticipation I rang the wish bell
down by the old enchanted wishing well
down on my luck not having a coin to toss
into the chasm lined with moss -
a red hair girl soon answered my ring
With a beautiful smile, a piece of string
she led me to a fairy castle down by a lake
I became hers upon that string that never did break
a soaring sunflower where e'er the wind would blow
forever tethered to the red hair girl below

The wish bell rings
in the sunflower castle
as the red hair girl
sinks
with a smile
into
the beautiful lake.

Night / Ghost / Secret garden / Glow-worm / CarDismalites:
Just a short car ride away from Phil Campbell
(Alabama)
after twilight unknown constellations gleam off the
shining
sandstone walls of Dismals Canyon - a mysterious
Secret
garden comes to life - Glow-worms emit bright blue-
green
lights as they hang from glistened webs bedewed and
bejeweled
from moist slime each night like fireflies (though not in
flight) -
Each guest gropes ghost like with torches, red or
white,
wending their way through this magical spectral
site
to catch a glimpse of the rare Glow-worm nymphs
aglow

Somewhere
In the secret garden
Cars
Turn into glow-worms.

To the Moon !!! hieroglyphs / balloon / moon / mango / fly / wisteria
the hieroglyphs were quite clear
escribed by Timotheses the charioteer
instructions to fly to the moon !
- that being said I thought - to the infinities;
to facilitate meeting with his divinities
a wisteria pod nine days old, as it were,
mango root mashed and mixed with myrrh
in equal portions then shaken, not stirred
applied to the basket of a balloon
all prepared for one's flight before noon
so I tried this concoction (trying to envision
where he'd gotten a balloon) and without revision
applied it to the basket of my craft christened Ra
and up we rose in a stench I could barely endure
(to be honest the mess smelled like manure)
be that as it may we rose! we soared ! the stench
filled my nostrils - permeating my pores; in French
I uttered something profane before I lost my mind
and passed out as the balloon took its head
and to this day I live on the moon, neither alive nor dead
... and Timotheses? I kick his butt every time I can

This poem made my day! Laughed my head off. Pre apocalyptical sense of humor.
Roon's Dilemma
Roon couldn't stop thinking about the balloon
It was just so blue and white and round
But he could never forget the moon.
That morning, Roon was shocked by a fly
He had to calm himself with a turnaround
Roon couldn't stop thinking about the balloon
Later, Roon was spooked by the moon
He tried to focus on his hieroglyphs
But he could never forget the balloon
wisteria tried to distract him with a prune
Said his mind had become too profound
Roon couldn't stop thinking about the balloon
Roon decided to do something at noon
The moon was like a toxic ground
But he could never forget the moon
Roon nosedived so very soon
His mind turned into a pound
Roon couldn't stop thinking about the balloon
But he could never forget the moon.

Lol... glad you enjoyed my offering
A villanelle ! I like the name Roon (Rune) in parallel with hieroglyph.
re: "Topsy Turvy"... I like the idea that "Cars / Turn into glow-worms."
