Thanks Virgil, she or he? Golden retriever? Loves the snow too I see. Lilly loves to dribble a ball around the yard on the slippery stuff. Any good dog literature you can recommend?

The Golden Retreiver was Sasha and she passed away five years ago. I now have a yellow Lab, Brandi, and she's five years old.

It's hard for me to tell from the small picture, but your dog looks like it has Border Collie in her.

I'm with Virgil... She definitely looks like she is a Border Collix mix. It's kind of hard to tell but she really looks pure-bred. She is little leggier than most BC's I've seen... they're usually lower to the ground and have bushier tails... so maybe a BC/Pointer mix? Or a BC/Lab mix? That's my guess.

I have a Mini Schnauzer. Love him to death!

Oh- and- edited to add- as far as dog literature, try "Timbuktu" by Paul Auster. It's a wonderful little book.

YAY DAWGS!! You know it, Lily!!

Hi, suzz! I have to go with Virgil on the Border Collie, but I'll add a little Lab to the mix. Yeah, Lilly looks like Border Collie/Lab mix. And what a mix! Playful, loyal, smart, just to name a few! Cute!

I'll suggest a great book: "How To Be Your Dog's Best Friend", GO HERE FOR INFORMATION

I found it to be totally informative and written by people who are very in tune with the canine.

This Christmas, my hubby bought me "The Loved Dog" (by Tamar Geller), and I have not read the whole thing yet, but it looks very promising. From what I have skimmed, it could be a very valuable book for people starting out with their first dog, etc. I really like Tamar's attitude towards canines, check out The Loved Dog LINK

Anyhow, livelaughlove, I, too, have a mini schnauzer, named Pepper (check a photoalbum I have dedicated to her in my albums in my profile, if you wish)

Dogs make me happy! Glad to speak to you all.

Lilly's head is deffo border collie, I bet she's a really switched on dog. The rest of her looks a bit Foxhoundish I reckon.

I work with collies every day, I have three at the moment and they've got me well trained.

Yeah, my guess for Lilly would be a border collie/ some kind of hound? mix

I love dogs, though I've never owned one. I was allergic to them when I was younger (grew out of it by working for a vet) and my parents aren't really animal people.

Once I'm out of school and have my own place I'll be getting dogs though, and a Border Collie is the first one I'll get. I love them. They're so smart! I also intend to own a Rottweiler some day, and maybe an Australian Shepherd.
