Am I the only one who's read this one over Christmas? Or am I the only one who's had time to read over the holidays?
I enjoyed it. I like Grisham anyway - shock! horror!! - but this isn't a 'typical' Grisham, no tense courtroom scenes, no nasty crimes. It's almost a fable, an extended short story, one plot-line, very simple narrative style. It's not a great book, but it's enjoyable and light, suitable for the season. And as for no murders, I'd have been tempted to see off some of those neighbours....
I could start only two days ago since the book was never available at the library over the holidays. I haven't finished it yet but it is an entertaining book, with an interesting take. As Kasie said, not your typical Grisham.

LOL! I read Mr. Ives' Christmas...it was awesome--one of the best modern books I've ever read.
I dunno, I just couldn't justify my limited reading time to read Grisham. Was it any good??
