    Reflections on a Bad Day

    Reflections on a Bad Day

Watching while hope goes flying in the breeze,
Just a falling leaf worthy only to be burning
Trying so tightly to cling to what I believe
But in the darkness of my heart doubt is stirring
Wondering and worrying about the distant past
Nor does the present seem so full of roses
Knowing that the moment cannot forever last
No matter what my frenzied brain supposes
Would I if I could return to yesterday,
And relive heartache waiting for the change
Trusting to a frigid fate that what comes my way
Could destroy even what is a written page?
There are no implied promises given at your birth
So enjoy the sparse time you have here on Earth…

    Some of us laugh
    Some of us cry
    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...

I love it. Brave choice of theme. It has a nice swaying flow and the rhymes are lovely.
Callicratidas: If women took part in government meetings, in the courts, and in public affairs, you surely would be a general, Charicles, or president, and they whould raise bronze statues of you in the public squares. In fact, the wisest among them, were they to speak in favour of their cause, could hardly have outdone you. (...) It may even be that Pericles defended Aspasia with less eloquence.

its a nyc poem... and so so sad ( no hope at all :-)
and though its lovely and liked it .
"He is asleep. Though his mettle was sorely tried,
He lived, and when he lost his angel, died.
It happened calmly, on its own,
The way the night comes when day is done."
