    Well, basically he is saying that God is the source of creation.

    The lamb was often a symbol of Jesus, or of innocence, which is quite appropriate as the poem itself came from his Songs of Innocence. The Lamb can also be a child, an innocent one, so he is talking to a child and asking him if he knew where he came from. And he tells the child that he came from Jesus, an extension of God, the source of creation.

    In The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, he says, "For every thing that lives is Holy."


    Which can also be seen in The Lamb, when he tells the child that he is a lamb as well.

    The Lamb is more complex than it seems at first site...
