    Traditional Japanese Prose

Can anyone direct me to major influential documents of prose in the Japanese canon? So far my field has been centered around the famous poets, and The Tale of Genji, and I am looking to expand more into the prose tradition. Is anyone familiar with Japanese prose, more specifically with traditional works, rather than modern ones?
