    I Dream

    .

    I Dream

I dream of finding you in a meadow,
lying, content, lost among the daisies

I dream of finding you in a forest,
leaning, comfortable, against an ancient oak

I dream of finding you by the roadside,
shouldering a backpack, waiting for a lift

I dream of finding you near a stream,
poised, ready for immersion in cool waters

I dream of finding you in a campground,
sitting alone, the fire fading to embers

I dream of finding you at the seashore,
looking to the horizon, focused, pensive

I dream of finding you on a mountaintop,
exclaiming your accomplishments to the gods

    I dream of finding you
    ...reading, thinking, stargazing
    ......listening, dancing, laughing

I dream of finding you dreaming
    of me.

    This was beautiful

I am already in your dream, full -fledged, arm in arm. I am always with you, you fail to recognize me. Have I ever been far from your imagination? Are not you always dreaming of me? Is there a moment you have not dreamed or imagined about me.l am all the time with you, and where are you searching when I am very much with you, heart to heart and no moments go unspent without you at least in our dreams and imaginations. In fact I weave your dreams and imprison you there all the time.

“If water derives lucidity from stillness, how much more the faculties of the mind! The mind of the sage, being in repose, becomes the mirror of the universe, the speculum of all creation.

This is so wistful and beautiful, Cdn, and blazeofglory's poetic response together with yours? WOW!!! blazeofglory-you should write that in a poetic form-it is just beautiful.

Once this began to roll, there was no stopping it, was there? God bless those opening lines that seize us and lead us like hopeful children to an early Christmas!

    Wow! How dreamily wonderful!
    Some of us laugh
    Some of us cry
    Some of us smoke
    Some of us lie
But it's all just the way
that we cope with our lives...

I echo what has been said. Such beautiful sojourns into the territories of your dreaming heart. Wonderful, CR!

Thanks so much for all your comments, everyone. If you happen to drop in for a repeat visit, you may notice that I've changed the last line.

Blaze, I love your beautiful response. It's better than the poem!! Just lovely! Thank you so much.

Believe it or not I had thought of recommending something like that when I first read it. Yes! The withholding of of me until a next line, a line to itself, better expresses both the depth of that dream - and the persona's hesitancy as if she doesn't quite dare to hold or believe in it!

    Way to effing go!

Cdn, this poem was absolutely beautiful, and the ending was perfect. Well done, my friend!

To me, it was the ending line which made the poem. Beautiful and romantic!

The whole poem is just so filled with imagery, really melodious, it flows together very well. And, of course, the most perfect part of it is that ending line.

Kiz, thanks so much. I love that you loved it!

Hiya, Sweets. Thanks for your comment! I guess I'm wondering whether you're referring to the original last line or the revised last line.

Maz, thanks very much for your kind words. Appreciated!

Asilef, thanks so much for reading and commenting. I'm glad you liked it.

Cathy, many thanks to you as well. And welcome to the Poetry Forum!
