The end of literature:
One of the few things we can take pride in, in this millennium of human civilization is literature. Imagine there was no literature, and also no this literature forum. We would not have a magic world of mythologies, legendary tales, novels, poetries, essays and of course a wealth of knowledge now we gloriously hold in high esteem.
In fact I liken literature to human sensibility and sensitivity. We are highly sensible beings and can not remain blind to what we see and deaf to what we hear around and we have reactions to all stimuli we see in our environment everyday. When we see s scene of woes tears roll down our faces and when we see something joyous we can not stop expressing it. And one of the things we are gifted with and that has been catalytic in distinguishing us from the rest of other species in the globe is the power of imagination. Man scaled a height of civilization and went far to reach the pinnacle on the strength of this faculty. Even science is birthed by his capacity for imagination. Man wondered at what he saw in the universe and his counterpart animal beings did not and that is why man is here at the zenith of civilization and the animal kingdom remains where they were millennia ago.
Literature is accredited for what we have today, this modern civilization. Imagine you have skyscrapers, monuments, machines, and sophisticated technologies but have no literature. Life could not be something, a matter of celebration or jubilation at all. We have stories of human civilizations and how man wrestled with forces both natural and human in the course of time and all are attributable to matters of civilization and had there been no civilizations we would have been back in the animal kingdom, living in their own conditions.
We know through history that Literature birthed revolutions and the credit must go to those immortal writers who could provoke or stir up something in the minds of people. The fire of the French revolution was ignited by Rousseau and Voltaire, the Russian was stirred by the ideas of Gorky and other great writers.
The topic here is the end of literature and I want all of you to put forth your ideas on the topic
