    The Disease of the Church

    Hello Friends,

    I have only recently stumbled upon this fun forum and i have a hypothesis of what ails the church... We bought into america. There it is.

    you say God bless america, when actually you mean America bless the Church. The news flash, the church is a bit bigger than our consumerist minds can realize. When the church began, it was small and confined. And GREAT!

    it became bigger, people knew less, read less, and thus started making stuff up. Kinda like TODAY! i don't care about Homosexuality and Abortion in comparison to other more IMPORTANT ISSUES!!!!!

    please, church, get a clue, realize that 'conservative' can never fully describe you.

    Church, stand up and be the BRIDE of CHRIST and not the Whore of BABYLON!!!

    thank you,

    I am beyond confused by that statement. Your ideas are composed rather oddly it's like watching someone bounce around a room. I'm generally confused at what you're trying to get at through this statement....
    Little one, Fate might miscarry.
    Little one, why do you tarry?
    Little one, When May I marry you?
    My little one.

    simply put

    church = bride

    Today's church = consumerism

    consumerism = BAD

    simple enough?

    ALSO, allow me to state that a lot of 'catch phrases' in the above thread are aimed directly at your apathetic church attender. Such as 'God bless america, Homosexuality and abortion, conservative, BRIDE of CHRIST /Whore of BABYLON Dichotomy.' All of these are a way to throw down the gauntlet, have people stop hiding behind what their 'jesus man preacher guy' said, and think for themselves.

    is this targeted at everyone on this forum. Of course not. I would hope that many see the institutionalize church and get as hot around the collar as i do...

    or, perhaps, i'm the only guy out here asking this question. Hey Church, why should i care?

    I was still at the attempt of figuring out if you are for the church or against it. And I think that they have a good debate going on in the "is god a tyrant" thread in the philisophical lit. forum that you might want to look into as it is kind of going though the questions in which you are asking...just saying.
