    Mine too, bounty, I learned to read English with Treasure Island.

    And tailor referred in German one title by the mysterious B. Traven. Believe it or not, haven´t as yet read anything by Traven.

    re: Traven - somewhat of a mystery as a person, his book was made into a wonderful movie here in the USA.

    I loved Treasure Island... vastly underrated book.

    sometimes calvin & hobbes makes me laugh right out loud.

    I liked treasure island but kidnapped is one of my very favorites.

    I recognize the name Charles kingsley. if I remember rightly he was a part of the formative "muscular Christianity" movement in England.
