I have an over-active mind that will not turn off unless I'm too exhausted to do anything else but sleep... perhaps due to my sleep apnia being bothersome (wearing a sleep apnia mask with forced air helps unless I'm congested)... and my poor wife's nightly torment with pain (knees/ankles/back/etc): the bitter fugue that permeates our tortured dreams. (note: fugue is only a sight-rhyme with segue)

"The Mind of the Book...": truly a scholarly endeavor.

Calvin and Hobbes: Sunday Pages 1985-1995: An Exhibition Catalogue - Bill Watterson...

Calvin and Hobbs is 1 of 3 comic strips I still read every day on the web (I used to read more but I managed to winnow my list down from at least twenty to just C&H, Dilbert, and the old Farside strips).

Have you tried taking longer walks in your property (without is not recommended at this time)?
I like Calvin but don´t know anything about Hobbes.

It's only been recent that we've been able to breathe the air without harm, and my large blister has finally healed so walking may be possible as the weather cools (still need some good walking shoes).

No... some started just recently... https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/ and https://www.fire.ca.gov/daily-wildfire-report/ , and our "local" fire (more than 20 miles/32 km as the crow flies), the Fork Fire... https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/article/7165/57168/ is still going - but 70% contained; we only have three seasons here in California now: Winter, Spring, and Fire. Today has a good (now) to moderate (later) AQI to be outside, though one can see the haze begin in the tree not too far distant... https://www.eldoradoweather.com/current/aqi/aqi.php (we're between Placerville and Auburn on the maps)

Sorry to learn that. I guess you and your family won´t want to wait seven years to sell the property, with the wildfires getting nearer every year.

Hopefully no. I do not want to move particularly; been here almost 30 years, but before that moved too many times: tired of moving... We were evac'd in the Kelsey Fire in August 1994 (arson). Historically there are fires every so often throughout the Gold Country. The desire to move is predicated on the irrational California property tax increases our state's leaders covet.

Well, I hope it all will work out to the best. I can understand your resistance to moving, after 30 years one is part of the community. I don´t like moving myself and I will have to move at least once more.

Thought you might be interested... reviews are much better for the cards (rave reviews) than the book (so-so), however.
